Why do we need the practice of mantras or mantra yoga?

1. It helps to concentrate, find peace and its sources.

2. It helps to lift your consciousness.

3. It helps to experience God and the Spirit.

4. It can heal physical, emotional and mental bodies if there is such intention.

5. It helps to obtain new powers, spread talents; stimulates observation, develops your mind, intellect and insight, develops wisdom and grace, spreads creativity, develops courage, truth pursue and fortitude.

6. It may provide security, purify your karma and help to escape its wheel.

7. It may help to accumulate energy and elevate and purify it.

8. It helps you calm down and master your feelings and mind, get to know yourself and transform your fears.

9. If there is a wish, it helps to create secular happiness: acquire material wellbeing, success in partnership, respect of others, success in profession, it also helps in distant journeys, protects from enemies, traumas and thefts.

10. It helps to acquire integrity and peace.

11. It gives a possibility to obtain an integral and non-dual world-view.

12. In Buddhism and Hinduism it is said that only with the help of mantras it is possible to reach the liberation, the enlightenment, if one seeks it.

This description does not give a final view of mantra practices or their meanings, for it is immense and indescribable. Here I will share some contemplation that, I think, will be useful for a beginner in mantra practices who does not have a permanent spiritual guru – a guide.
